Financial Planning and Reporting Manager
Duration: 1 year Fixed Term Contract
R600 000 – R650 000 per annum
Purpose of the Role:
Responsible for managing the long term and operational financial planning and reporting for the Federation and the International Secretariat, including aggregated financial reports for the organisation on a quarterly and annual basis and for the review of these reports. The role is responsible to deliver excellent customer support for users of Finance Consolidation and Reporting systems.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
Responsible for working with all Finance functions worldwide to ensure accurate consolidation of data.
Development and production of Federation Reports
Develop and maintain training materials, providing end user training to users at both the International Secretariat and country offices
Liaise with Technical Support teams across IT to resolve technical issues.
Work together with IT Technical teams, GFS team and Finance teams to plan, manage and support implementation of new systems.
Systems Development and Implementation
Coordinate the Planning, budgeting, forecasting and Reporting processes
Systems development & process Improvements Ensure that the financial data in the GFS system is regularly maintained and secured
Lead the quarterly and Annual aggregation reporting process and audits
Monitors developments in technical accounting standards and practices; responsible for providing guidance to all stakeholders on technical accounting issues to meet AAI and international reporting standards
Conducting probationary reviews with staff and annual performance reviews (performance management) to support staff development.
Desired Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will have:
B. Com Degree or Honours Degree and professional accounting qualification such as CA,CIMA, ACCA.
At least 7 years accounting experience of finance department management, including financial planning and reporting
Experience of working in an international environment.
Previous system development experience of a Financial Consolidation System within a large multi-currency Group reporting environment.
Strong analytical and management skills, with track record in management and motivation of staff
Strong influencing skills – able to positively build peer working relationships and be effective without having to rely on authority
Able to demonstrate excellent communication and influencing skills. Fluent spoken and written English.
Commitment to company’s vision, mission, values and ways of working
Proven experience in report writing, financial consolidations, and use of aggregation packages Advanced SUN systems skills are essential.
Experience of varied accounting environments with a proven track-record of process improvement and implementation of best-practice
Good understanding of databases, data uploads, interfaces with other systems, data extraction and manipulation
