Product Assistant (Bulk Buys / Imports)

Florida Hills – Roodepoort

R 6 000 – 8 000 depending on experience

Main Functions:
Assist with the organizing and follow up of Franchisees meetings and Workshops:
• Products discussion
• Product selection for store
• Book buying days
• Product meetings
• Trade shows

Store Visits:
• Product range analyzing in stores and proposal for improvement
• Identification of opportunities to improve store achievements
• Purchase proposal to improve cash flow
• Analyzing of system reports to determine the top sellers and optimizing of product selection
• Written feedback after visits and follow up visits to ensure that problem areas are addressed and sorted out

Assist with New Stores:
• Merchandise layouts/Merchandising
• Opening of Supplier Accounts
• Ordering of opening stock and follow up on deliveries
• Coordinating of opening specials
• Opening of all new stores
• Data Capturing

Assist with Compiling and Updating of the Merchandising manual.

Assist with Follow ups on Suppliers and products:
• Negotiated terms
• Imports
• Supplier reports

Assist with Group marketing and advertising campaigns:
• Supplier deals follow up
• Marketing material
• Coordinating monthly newsletter
• Formulating best seller reports by using the store IT system reports

• Obtaining information regarding any bulk deals.
• Drawing up of allocation sheet for products
• Working with Central Buying Product Manager to oversee and ensure the smooth running of all the imports

Assisting with Company stores and affiliated companies
• Supplier orders
• Resolve all queries relating to product
• Work in company stores during peak trading periods

• Regular supplier and product comparison to ensure stores receive best deal
• Market research to determine what other retail groups do in terms of specials, new releases and book launches and negotiate and plan strategies around findings

• Matric Certificate
• Diploma or Certificate in product/ IT assisting or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 2 years stationery and retail experience
• Minimum of 2 years experience in basic imports
o Product coordination or assisting
o Staff Training – compiling of information
o Store layouts and merchandising
o New store openings – all product related facilitating
o Report analyzing
o Retail IT Systems
• coordinating of changes
• Fully Bilingual (Afrikaans and English)
• Own Reliable Transport

Software Knowledge:
• Excel
o V look-up’s
o Formulas
• Microsoft Outlook and Word
• Retail Systems

• Sound retail and financial knowledge
• Ability to deal with conflict
o resolve franchisee matters
o enforce group standards
o do effective research
• Non- Smoker
• Willing to travel
• Willing to assist in other tasks outside of normal duties
