Product Developer in Bakery Industry/Large Scale

Dammam – Saudi Arabia


Type of Business:
Bakery / FMCG

14000SAR PER MONTH excluding housing, medical and transport etc

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science or closely related field is required
2. 7-10+ years prior experience in Research & Development food new product and formulations
3. Strong preference for experience working with Sandwich Bread, Hamburger Bread, Hotdog Roll, Sesame Roll, Samosa Leaves, Samolis, and etc….
4. Formulates new products that can match product attribute, cost, ingredient statement, nutritional profiles for target product
5. Successfully coordinates launches of new products with commercialization team
6. Assists in the selection of raw materials and other ingredients from suppliers
7. Proactively researches current customer markets and latest technologies to develop new product concepts
8. Analyzes competitors’ products and makes recommendations
9. Improves packaging innovation and technology
10. Modifies, develops, documents and trains on products and processes
11. Makes delicious product samples for shelf life trials, sales and marketing and customer presentations
12. Willingly supports production tasks related to product and packaging samples, process testing, shelf life trials, customer visits and scale-up runs
13. Organizes and manages evaluations for shelf life, sensory tests and product presentations
14. Receives and maintains ingredients and packaging samples in orderly manner
15. Understands and provides leadership on industry and agency regulations
16. Properly documents activities to include process times, temps, specifications and photos to properly so process can be replicated during commercialization
17. Undertakes short and long-term projects with other departments , e.g. reducing waste by improving efficiency
18. Understanding of food safety, quality standards, nutrition and FDA regulations
19. Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.)
20. Prefer Great Plains, Navision or ERP related knowledge
21. Knowledge of basic bakery equipment (i.e. scale, mixing, forming equipment and other bakery equipment.)
22. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
23. Strong organization, documentation and project management skills
24. Must be able to work in a production area which includes noise, stairs, lifting, equipment moving, sharp utensils, wet, hot and cold
25. Ability to travel as required for start-ups, trade shows, seminars, customer visits or equipment trials
