PYDA is a non-profit organisation based in Stellenbosch. Its develops talented, previously disadvantaged 18 – 25 year old youth through an innovative programme that combines personal development with industry-specific vocational training and practical work experience.
The Academy is looking to appoint an experienced, proactive and high energy Programme Administrator to join a small dynamic team and manage all aspects of administration in our office in Stellenbosch. This position will report to the Programme Manager.
The responsibilities include administration in the following areas:
Office management activities
Contracts, file management and analysis of related data
Student liaison and relations
Communication including website, stakeholder information, event planning and social networks
Board and staff meetings
A formal Administration or Office Management qualification
At least three years experience in office management and administration
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Fluency in either Xhosa or Afrikaans
South African citizenship
Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as in managing a data base
Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines
A strong ability to work in an unsupervised situation, and be a team player
A passion for developing and maintaining administrative systems
A valid driver’s licence
Experience in NPO, education sector and working with young people
Preference will be given to previously disadvantaged applicants.
