Reference: SW004806-ML2-1 Well established company has an opportunity for an experienced Accountant with a Bachelors Degree in Accounting / Finance / Costing to join their branch in Brackenfell. Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Finance/Costing A minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role Fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English Ability to multitask and work under pressure Own vehicle required and willing to travel to Cape Area and Garden Route once a month Duties will include but not limited to: Financial Reporting: - Preparation of financial statements such as balance sheets Income Statements, and cash flow statements to provide an overview of the company's financial health Cost Accounting: - Tracking costs associated with construction projects including materials, labour, equipment, subcontractors, and overhead expenses Cost accounting helps in assessing project profitability and controlling expenses. Budgeting and Forecasting: - Developing budgets for construction projects and forecasting future financial performance based on project estimates, market trends, and company goals Job Costing: - Allocating costs to specific construction projects to determine the profitability of each project and to identify areas where costs can be minimized Payroll Processing: - Managing payroll for construction workers, including calculating wages, taxes, benefits, and deductions Accounts Payable (AP): - Managing payments to suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors for materials, services, and equipment used in construction projects Accounts Receivable (AR): - Invoicing customers for completed work, tracking payments received, and following up on outstanding invoices to ensure timely payment Cash Management: - Monitoring cash flow to ensure that there is enough liquidity to cover expenses and to invest excess funds efficiently Tax Compliance: - Ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations, including income tax, sales tax, payroll tax, and any industry-specific taxes or incentives Financial Analysis: - Analysing financial data to identify trends, opportunities for cost reduction, and areas for improvement in efficiency and profitability Internal Controls: - Implementing internal controls to safeguard assets, prevent fraud, and ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial reporting Risk Management: - Identifying and managing financial risks associated with construction projects, such as cost overruns, delays, and fluctuations in material prices or interest rates Audit Preparation: - Coordinating with auditors and preparing financial documents and records for internal or external audits These accounting functions are crucial for the effective financial management of a construction company and for ensuring its long-term success and sustainability Only candidates currently residing in the Western Cape will be considered for this position.
