JOB PURPOSE

Accountant responsibilities include budgeting, managing tax payments and performing internal audits. You will function as a consultant for senior managers, conducting cost and revenues analyses. Ultimately, you will ensure all our accounting transactions comply with the law and support our companys investments

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Tertiary Qualification: BCom / Diploma (Finance) Minimum 5-10 years working experience in the accounting / finance field. 2-5 years experience in a middle management role, experience working in manufacturing is an advantage

MINIMUM SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

Strong numeric and analytical ability Self-motivator with a positive pro-active attitude Attention to detail and excellent financial reporting skills, (ODBC reports) ideal. Deadline driven. Ability to work independently. Previous financial software packages experience essential. (Syspro GL knowledge & all subledgers ideal) Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas. Excellent numeric, oral, and written language applications Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (with internal as well as external stakeholders) Excellent organizational and follow-up skills Ability to build effective relationships. Thorough understanding of Policies and Procedures Problem solving ability. Accuracy

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Management Prepare, Collate and Present the monthly numbers to the FM. Review actuals against budget on a monthly basis. Prepare, Collate and present the business unit forecasts: Income statements, Capital Budgets Prepare, Consolidate and Distribute monthly management report to the FM: Flash and Management Accounts Review General Ledger Reconciliations and consolidate. Complete quarterly statutory packs in consolidated format Complete quarterly TAX Compilations in consolidated format Compile bi-annual and annual financial statements in consolidated format. Liaise with FM in relation to report requirements. Assist with all other reasonable adhoc tasks. Financial Compliance and Operational Auditing Ensure Compliance with Policies and Procedures Liaise with all parties related to compliance, auditing and or financial management. Support Financial Managers and CFO with operational financial aspects. Review the internal audit status update. Quarterly board packs Assist with the compilation of the quarterly board packs. Assist with the submission of info pieces in the packs. Capital expenditure. Facilitate the internal process for all capital expenditure for all plants, branches etc. Ensure signatories are done in time of the expected capex. Ensure effective and accurate record keeping at all times. Update and maintain the asset. Ad-hoc Any ad-hoc tasks relating to the accountant role / compliance
