Our client in the Logistics industry is currently looking for an Accountant , in Wellington, Westen Cape. Supports the business with critical financial decisions by collecting, tracking, and correcting the company's finances. Responsible for financial audits, reconciling bank statements, and ensuring financial records are accurate throughout the year. Responsible to track and record expenses related to transportation, including fuel, maintenance, and labour costs. Analyse financial data to identify cost-saving opportunities and make recommendations for operational Reports. Tracks and records expenses related to transportation, including fuel, maintenance, and labour costs. Reconciliation of Balance Sheet Accounts, cashbooks, pre-paid accounts, salary control accounts, accruals. Prepares financial statements and reports for management, shareholders, and regulatory agencies. Daily monitoring and management of debtors by ensuring payments are made by customers Inform relevant departments and ensure details are captured on Solo plan and Pastel. Manage the process and policies with regards to CGIC. Manage cover requests process online once completed Credit App received. Reduce cover / Increase cover on customers as necessary. Submit claims online before CGIC cut-off on overdue customer accounts. Ensure process is followed up on claims. Submit monthly Declaration reports. List debtors Not on CGIC and or cover exceeded. Daily monitoring and management of creditors. Liaise with management when payments are not made. Management of AP and AR Age Analysis. Provide management with accurate data re Age Analysis. Reconciliation of all debtors and creditors. Prepare Year-End File for Audit. Asset Finance Report. Assists with budget panning and forecasting for transportation operations. Finalise Management Account for each department. Ensure all statutory obligations are completed and submitted on time. 2-3 years' experience in accounting, preferably in the transportation or logistics industry. Completed SAICA/SAIPA articles beneficial. Grade 12x. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. Analytical skills. Customer orientated. Basic knowledge of regulations & legislation. Advanced computer literate – MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Fluent in English & Afrikaans. R25 000 – R35 000 per month.
