Accounting Manager - Kimberley

An established Accounting firm in Kimberley is looking for an Accounting Manager to join their dynamic team Purpose of the Role: Managing a client portfolio consisting of accounting, tax, and general advisory services This entails advising clients in the fields of accounting and regulatory requirements, acting as the sparring partner of clients while focusing on relationships with clients to guarantee and surpass their expectations of service delivery. Candidate Requirements Prerequisites i.t.o qualification and work experience: • Eligible to register as a Chartered Accountant (SA) or already registered; • Registered Professional Accountant (SA) and at least 2-years' relevant, post article experience; • B.Com degree and/or equivalent accounting degree, completed SAIPA or SAICA articles and at least 5-years' relevant, post article experience. The post article experience should preferably be in a managerial capacity Other prerequisites: • Proficient in Afrikaans & English • MS Office Preferred but not required experience: • Draftworx • Xero • Dext / Hubdoc • Accfin / Skytax • SARS e-filing The ideal candidate should have: • Self-motivation • Analytical skills • Interpersonal skills • Great communication skills • Organisational skills • Time management skills • Problem solving skills • Report writing skills • Training presentation skills • Planning skills • Management & leadership skills Key responsibilities: Taking overall responsibility for client portfolio; Managing a team and ensuring all team members perform to the best of their ability; Supporting and coaching team members to develop themselves on a personal and technical level in a mentor capacity; Interrogating current practices and proposing enhancements to improve efficiencies with a specific focus on technology; Compiling financial statements; Proposing appropriate accounting treatments in line with applicable financial reporting standards; Taking responsibility of monthly financial accounting services; Calculating Provisional and Annual Income tax; Reconciling and Submitting input/output VAT; Detail reviewing work performed by team members; Identifying errors and proposing appropriate remedies; Analysing business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to project future revenues and expenditure; and Adhering to deadlines in a timeous manner. Providing solicited and unsolicited advice on financial policy objectives to support management decision making; Generating and interpreting internal reports for management decision making and information and presentation; Developing and maintaining budgets and financial databases; Induction of staff (new and current) on the strategic goals and operational activities in terms of approved policies and procedures; Assisting team members with their development plans and continuous feedback on their progress in relation to these plans (performance management); Administrating Human resource like staff leave and allocating job responsibilities; Risk management and related policies and procedures; and Implementing quality assurance standards/measures to meet both internally set standards and the requirements of external bodies.
