Accounts Payable Supervisor - - Johannesburg

Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for ensuring seamless financial operations? My client is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor to oversee and optimize their accounts payable workflows.
This position is based in Johannesburg North.

Duties:

Manage and supervise all aspects of accounts payable operations, from invoice receipt to payment reconciliation, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintaining high-quality standards.
Conduct regular reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal policies, statutory regulations, and audit requirements.
Facilitate training workshops for both internal stakeholders and AP staff to enhance operational efficiency and compliance.
Support the AP Manager in overseeing various projects and initiatives from inception to completion.
Act as a liaison between vendors, internal customers, and AP team leaders to resolve issues and ensure smooth operations.
Coordinate with internal and external auditors, providing necessary documentation and reports in a timely manner.
Serve as a backup bank B releaser, verifying and authorizing payments on the business banking platform.
Developing, implementing, and maintaining compliance with systems, procedures, and policies.
Providing guidance to employees on system, process, or policy issues and conducting business process analysis to improve efficiencies.
Recruiting and retaining quality staff, fostering a positive work environment conducive to learning and development.
Training and evaluating employees to enhance performance and compliance with KPIs and SOPs.
Addressing performance issues and implementing initiatives to maintain a positive working environment.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

Completed Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field
Project Management Certification would be advantageous
Minimum of 5 to 8 years experience in a similar position
Leadership experience in a Shared Services Environment
Strong Excel skills required
