Supervisor in the customs department needed for a globally known freight forwarder Processing and overseeing Duty Drawbacks applications and ensure all registers are kept up to date. Oversee refunds and register is kept up to date. Maintain all open accounts are followed up until finalization. Oversee Provisional payments and register is kept up to date Maintain all open cases and ensure PP's are liquidated or extension requested within given time period. Obtain refund statements for credits to be processed and invoices to be raised Oversee all Customs stops, queries and detains for adjustments until these are finalized. Resolve EDI problems with Shipshape. Assist with permit applications when required. Provide support to channel controllers and other internal Schenker Departments. Develop and maintain a good working relationship with SARS. Handle customs Notice of Intents. Apply for TDN's on behalf of clients. Assist with appeals to Customs. 7 Years customs experience of which 2 years in a supervisory capacity Relevant experience in Refunds and Drawbacks Knowledge of the current Customs Act, including Incoterms, Tariffing with the General rules of interpretation and general rules to the completion of Customs declarations / Bills of entries Customs co-ordination and facilitation Client Service Administration Information and records management Computer literate Willing to work after hours/weekends/ and on public holiday when required Assertive, confident, self-motivated and enthusiastic Performance driven, ability to plan, organize and put into action Client orientation Communication skills Build value based relationships Problem solving Attention to detail (accuracy) Systematic and articulate Constructive interpersonal skills Ability to work under pressure Must be able to lead a team and create an atmosphere of teamwork by leading by example R 38 000 - R 40 000
