The Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Teaching & Learning) seeks to appoint a dynamic and energetic person with very good organizational, communication and interpersonal skills, who is able to take initiative and problem solve. S/he must have a proven ability to work under pressure, multi-task, meet deadlines and be willing and able to work after hours when required. S/he must have an attitude and work ethic of professionalism demonstrating courtesy, friendliness and the confidentiality expected in a senior executive office of the university The successful candidate will provide general administrative and secretarial support to the Office of the DVC (T&L) while based in the University Teaching and Learning Office; organise and manage teaching portfolio events and work as a team member with staff in the teaching and learning portfolio. In addition, s/he may assist as a receptionist to the office and with public relations activities for the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (T&L). Senior Certificate and one-year relevant post matric qualification. Three years administrative and project management experience with at least two years in a senior management context. Evidence of skills and experience in events organisation, management and post-event follow-up. Finance and/or Human Resources administrative and management experience. Budgetary planning and financial records management thorough database development and maintenance. Demonstrable competence in a suite of computer software packages such as word processing, Excel spreadsheets, power-point presentations and other packages, including general business computer literacy
