About the role We are looking for a Senior Advisor: Community Engagement to undertake regular stakeholder engagement at multiple levels, coordinate and lead impact assessment, public participation processes consultations and social risks identification. Reporting to the Principal Advisor: Community and Social Performance and working collaboratively within the wider Community team, you will: Conduct engagement activity within RBM’s communities through regular interaction at multiple levels including through formal leadership structures and individual members of the community. Support departmental leaders in understanding and monitoring community’s activity, issues and trends and tracking emerging risks. Provide ongoing assessments and analysis of community sentiment. Support the Community Development and Projects team with engagement on community projects within the communities. Support the effective identification, assessment, and close-out of community complaints within the host communities and monitor implementation of actions resulting from the complaints. Ensure recording of all interactions and commitments RBM’s standardized approach. Support the reporting and recording of all Communities incidents and complaints and maintain an active log of “live issues”. Ensure all activities are aligned with both RBM and Rio Tinto Group policies, Standards and approaches, including ensuring full compliance with all approval and escalation processes. What you’ll bring A relevant bachelor’s degree in development studies or social sciences. 3 years’ experience in a communities and Social Performance focused discipline; Proven ability to collaborate and build strong relationships internally and externally. Demonstrated experience engaging with communities within the mining or related industry. Strong technical capability in communities and social performance and ability to engage with community members in an effective way which supports business outcomes and the development of long-term sustainable relationships.
