The Aerial Sensor Operator role is to operate the company airborne survey systems for data acquisition in a professional manner to ensure the success of the project. Perform flight planning for the survey in conjunction with the pilot. Perform functionality checks or ground runs prior to the survey flight. Ensure satellite predictions and checks are carried out during the survey flight. Perform thorough coverage checks of collected data. Perform data management and back up raw field data for processing. Perform quality checks of lidar and images collected Complete survey log sheets and technical reports as needed. Perform handover and liaise with the production department to ensure data quality and assist with queries in this regard. Lead Installation and de-installations of the airborne survey equipment in the aircraft Liaise with staff, clients, and foreign representatives in a professional manner at all times. Keep abreast of new software releases for field equipment. Minimum two (2) years of related experience in the aerial survey / geospatial field. Flight experience in a small aircraft, less than 5700 kg Previous experience with aerial acquisition equipment such as LiDAR, Hyperspectral, Thermal and RGB cameras. Willing to travel for extended periods Internationally.
