Daily Duties: Check weather conditions for conducive take-off and flight as per technical project requirements. Collaborate with airborne systems engineer for flight planning to optimize flying hours within ATC, SACAA, Ferry, and weather restrictions. Conduct pre-flight checks to ensure aircraft airworthiness. Ensure all aircraft equipment meets specific modification requirements. Coordinate with airborne systems engineer regarding the project and anticipated flight paths. Communicate with air traffic controllers to ensure flight plan accuracy aligns with expected flight circumstances. Update aircraft flight folio to manage time to the next planned maintenance, allowing for sufficient task/project completion time. Safely and economically operate the aircraft to maximize its capability and minimise company expenses for each trip; track and manage expenses to stay within the project budget. Weekly update flight and duty records with flight and duty times, ensuring total flight times adhere to SACAA requirements. Minimum Rating requirement: 182, or 206 or both, and or Jabiru. Minimum hours: 500hrs (not including simulator hours) Required Qualifications: Must have a minimum of 800 total logged hours. Any Survey Experience advantageous. Hold as a minimum a Commercial Pilot License (CPL) with instrument rating. Must have a valid radiotelephony license. Must have a Class 1 medical certificate. Must have completed and hold current certification on: Cockpit Resource Management (CRM) training Dangerous Goods (DG) training Safety and Emergency Procedures training (SEPT) GNNS, RNAV and PBN Resulting Physical Qualifications: Must be prepared to travel locally and internationally on occasion extended periods of time. Skills and Characteristics: Highly self-motivated and self-directed – can operate with minimal oversight. Ambition to improve self and team in knowledge, ability, and efficiency. Highly effective communication skills Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Demonstrates integrity and accountability in words and actions. Ability to perform fault finding and troubleshooting. Must be a very flexible individual that can deal with constant change.
