A beautiful, Exlcusive-use, 5* Game Lodge located in the Madikwe Game Reserve.
Job DescriptionOur client is considering employing a couple at their beautiful exclusive use Game Lodge located in the Madikwe Game Reserve. The Lodge can accommodate 16 Guests at any time but is booked out exclusively for one family or company at any one time, mostly with international guests from America or the UK.
Because it is an exclusive use property, it is not always fully booked so there are periods in between where the couple would have no guests on site and would need to work on other areas with the lodge, such as Maintenance, housekeeping, admin, etc. We are seeking a Couple who are willing to be in a fairly remote location and not mind being on site when Guests are not in Camp.
The Lodge Management is fairly Flexible in their criteria for the couple that would fit their circumstances in terms of whether the couple is more senior or more junior.
Unfortunately the lodge cannot consider a couple with any young dependents. Ideally they need a couple who are fairly flexible in terms of responsibilities and daily routine The working cycles are generally 30 days on and 10 days off but the couple would be required to be flexible and work around when there are guests in camp.
One of the Couple needs to be a formally qualified Guide, ideally Lead Trails Guide. Duties will include Taking Guests Out on Drive, Bush Walks in Big 5 Territory, Guest Hosting, Maintenance, Care of Vehicles and other Guiding and Lodge Equipment, Bush Maintenance. Partner will oversee Housekeeping, Admin, Financials, Front of House and the 8 perm staff on site. Casuals are employed additionally if necessary.
QualificationsFGASA NQF 2 Minimum, FGASA NQF 4 Ideal. Trails Guide Qualification (Ideally lead rifle). Advanced Rifle Handling. Valid PDP.
Skills4/5 Star Game Lodge Experience. Ability to work independently and keep self busy when lodge does not have guests. One or both of the couple should be qualified and experienced to Guide and do walks in the North West Province. Lead rifle is ideal but if close to this, the reserve is ideal to continue to log hours and further these qualifications.
