A well-established, small yet busy practice located in Johannesburg northern suburbs (Randburg/Craighall/Hyde Park)
Job DescriptionOur client, a small but well-established and busy law firm with 1 Director is seeking some assistance in the practice. The Director is open to appointing either a Candidate Attorney, Paralegal or Junior Attorney or even a more Senior Attorney if the Attorney can bring in own clients and business as well. Duties and responsibilities will depend heavily on which role the person is appointed in. Respective Candidate Attorney, Paralegal or Attorney responsibilities will apply.
The director is essentially seeking the assistance of a competent and willing individual with strong written and verbal communication skills (high level English, accurate spelling and grammar), to assist with Research, client liaison and drafting of correspondence, paginating, serving, filing, etc. (Again, dependent on role the person will fulfill). A strong interest in Corporate/Commercial and Labour Law and Litigation will be required as this is the bulk of the firms business but because the firm is small it does attract different and varied matters across most areas of law, mostly representing companies and their Executives.
QualificationsFormal Law Degree (Ideally from one of the larger, recognized universities such as UP, UJ, UCT, University of Stellenbosch, etc.). The person must have achieved well academically. (Please send academic transcripts with your application) If applying for an Attorney role, should be Admitted.
SkillsExcellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong Interpersonal skills. Good drafting and research skills. Willingness to get involved and learn and apply yourself. Reliable and dependable. Good work Ethic. Ideally fluent in English and Afrikaans but not essential. Own Vehicle and Valid Driver's License.
