Air Traffic and Navigation Services (ATNS) Recruits Engineers x 2 Vacancies - - South Africa

Overview ATNS is seeking 2 candidates to actively conduct the communication, navigation and surveillance (CNS) planning, research and development efforts of ATNS with a particular focus on the conceptualization, planning and design of the ATNS CNS system in support of the ICAO operational concept, translation into the capital expenditure plan and to lead technology research and development activities in support of future systems deployment and air traffic management concepts that will realize ATNS corporate objectives with minimum risk. Major Activity ?Develop an understanding of the ATM community, CNS and ATM technology needs. ?Interpret ICAO plans, SARPS and guidance material in the context of ATNS’ objectives. ?Participate in the preparation of user requirement statements and functional technical specifications. ?Make presentations to the department on research and development project outcomes. ?Make submissions for approval to appropriate authorities. ?Participate in preparation of ATNS CAPEX plan. ?Collaborate with Technologists to develop and maintain planning and predictions models. ?Participate in site acceptance and commissioning tests of new CNS system equipment to ensure that specifications are met. ?Participate in ICAO regional and international planning meetings and SADC forums that advance ATNS’ position. ?Partake in preparation of plans, processes, procedures, business and safety cases for introducing new technologies to the business. ?Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, policies and procedures. ?Prepare and submit reports as required. ?Undertake research and development projects that will advance the corporate objectives of ATNS. Minimum Qualifications Degree in Electronic Electrical Engineering elegible for admission to Engineering Council of South Africa to register as Professional Engineer Minimum Experience 2 years Engineering experience with knowledge understanding of planning, specifying, acquiring and implementing o radio communication systems and or voice communication systems, o data communication systems and or voice and data switching systems, o radio navigation systems, o primary and secondary surveillance radar sensor and or radar flight data processing, o display systems ?Sound knowledge of ITU regulation, ICAO global and regional plans and SARP’s ?Knowledge of MSWord, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, MS Project, and Exchange Skills & Knowledge ?Analytical Skills ?Planning and Organizing ?Innovative and Initiative ?Client Service Orientation ?Team player ?Assertive ?Computer Literacy ?Good communication skills ?Quality Orientated Click here to apply online Job Title Engineer: CNS X2 Location Bruma Type of position Permanent Apply Now
