Airport Engineer - Department Head

The Airport Engineer Department Head will be responsible for overseeing all aviation-related projects, providing technical expertise to clients, and leading a team of aviation professionals. This role requires excellent communication skills, a deep understanding of aviation regulations and industry best practices, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership: Lead and manage the Aviation Department, setting strategic goals and objectives aligned with the companys overall mission and vision
Client Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for aviation clients, understanding their needs, objectives, and constraints, and providing expert advice and solutions
Project Oversight: Oversee the planning, design, and implementation of aviation projects, ensuring they adhere to client requirements, regulatory standards, and industry best practices
Technical Expertise: Provide technical expertise in various areas of aviation planning and engineering, including airport master planning, airport feasibility studies, airspace analysis, airport infrastructure designs
Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, including architects, engineers, environmental consultants, and other stakeholders, to integrate aviation considerations into broader development projects
Stakeholder Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with regulatory agencies, industry organizations, airport authorities, airlines, and other stakeholders in the aviation sector
Industry Knowledge: Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and regulations in the aviation industry, and incorporate them into project planning and execution to ensure the company remains at the forefront of innovation
Team Leadership and Development: Mentor and coach junior staff members, providing guidance on technical skills, project management, client engagement, and professional development
Communication: Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, proposals, and other communications materials to clients, stakeholders, senior management, and project teams
Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with relevant safety, environmental, and quality standards in all aviation projects, and implement measures to continuously improve project delivery processes

Minimum Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of experience in aviation planning, airport engineering, or a related field
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Airport Planning, Aviation Management or a related field Masters degree preferred
Professional registration with ECSA preferred
