Area manager - South Africa and Namibia - Centurion


Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Must have a B.Sc. Degree in Agriculture or similar
  • Minimum 4 years experience in Agrochemical sales, with knowledge of pesticides, fungicides, and herbicides are essential
  • Experience in row crops and potatoes will be required
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint, with strong presentation ability
  • Good communication skills, specifically in English and Afrikaans, with the ability to interface with internal and external stakeholders of all levels, will be required
  • Must have a valid drivers license and be willing to travel

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Contributing to the management team in South Africa by developing sales strategies in the designated sales area.
  • Providing sales steering and consulting on new sales initiatives and commercial policies at the distributor level.
  • Managing sales in the area, monitoring actuals against budget and forecast, identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Performing Key Account Management for Distributors in the sales area, developing and implementing differentiation services/product offers in close cooperation with Commercial Lead and Marketing Manager.
  • Developing and executing go-to-market (GTM) strategies and sales activities, supporting Southern Africa business.
  • Implementing Distributor segmentation and sales plans according to segmentation and commercial policies, ensuring sales budget achievement while maintaining ROI and sales margins.
  • Planning and implementing Sales Operation Plan including Farmer Days.
  • Maintaining cost transparency for selling costs and forecasting accuracy on future sales, developing strategies to close any sales gap.
  • Managing marketing activities and marketing budget within the region.
  • Ensuring compliance with anti-trust laws and business ethics.
  • Maintaining a positive mindset among team members and customers.
  • Supporting personal development including skills development for maximum job efficiency and satisfaction.
  • Keeping Commercial Lead, Demand Planning, and Marketing updated with sales activities, plans, strategies, and budgets.
  • Aligning all sales activities and plans with Patent Product and Brand Strategy as set out by the company.
  • Managing and maintaining rebate programs with all distributors.
