Area Vehicle Manager - Denver

Together with our client, a logistics company we are recruiting for a Area Vehicle Manager based in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate must have 3 - 4 years of transport experience and a relevant logistics qualification. Duties and Responsibilities: The purpose of the Area Vehicle Manager is to effectively and successfully assist in managing the Operations, ensuring the Warehouse, Fleet and relative Administration is done effectively and efficiently Assist with supervising of offloading, checking and identifying of damaged cartons. Resealing them and photographing where necessary Ensure maximum customer satisfaction through fast, friendly and effective customer service when required To nurture, guide and assist all employees where required, in order to maximize productivity, and establish a culture that inspires employees to give of their best at all times. Ensure all deliveries that require a booking are done and the relative information is captured and reflects on the notice board. Ensure you capture the diesel daily onto the Diesel spreadsheet, ensuring there are no problems or irregularities. If such problems or irregularities do exist report immediately to the Branch Manager and General Manager Ensure the effective and efficient running of the Fleet, including the Servicing, maintenance, management of fuel consumption. This includes the management of the Deliveries and Collections. Breakdowns are to be reported to the branch manager, operations manager and/or workshop manager immediately. Control and make sure on board trolleys and other equipment are accounted for. Check all vehicles under your control on a daily, weekly basis for any new damage or defects, also ensuring the cleanliness of the cabs. Any new damage or defects must be reported to the branch manager and the workshop manager immediately. You should establish what happened and who was responsible for the damage. Qualifications: 3 – 4 years of Transport experience Level 4 Equivalent to Standard 10 / Grade 12 Diploma in Logistics/Transport Management Skills: Knowledge of the transport industry. Communication skills Technical Competence Creative thinking Detail-oriented Outcomes-driven Computer Skills Organized Fast Thinker Problem Solver Hard working, Reliable, and Integrity.
