Title: Instrumentation Technician - Mining - Expat Location: Expat - Africa Responsibilities: - Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation and control systems in mining operations - Perform regular inspections and calibration of instruments to ensure accuracy and reliability - Liaise with other technical staff and mining operators to coordinate maintenance activities - Provide hands-on training and support to local technicians to enhance their skills and knowledge - Work in adherence to safety regulations and company policies - Participate in emergency response and shutdown activities as required - Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment status Requirements: - Degree in Instrumentation Engineering or related field - Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the mining industry - Strong knowledge of instrumentation systems, control systems, PLCs, and SCADA systems - Experience working with a variety of instruments such as pressure sensors, transmitters, flow meters, etc. - Knowledge of mining processes and equipment - Willingness to work in remote locations and travel extensively - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Valid driver's license - Ability to pass background checks and drug/alcohol screenings Preferred qualifications: - Previous expatriate experience - Proficiency in multiple languages Compensation: - Competitive salary with additional benefits (housing, transportation, healthcare, etc.) as per company policy for expatriate assignments.
