Assistant Financial Manager - Stellenbosch

Reference: CPT003318-Del-1Opportunity to be effective as 2IC with future growth, working alongside the FM supporting various aspects of financial management within the organisation. To excel in this role, you will need strong analytical skills, attention to detail, proficiency in financial software and tools, a solid understanding of accounting principles and financial management concepts. Additionally, effective communication and teamwork skills are essential for collaborating with colleagues across different departments and levels of the organisation. REQUIREMENTS Matric, with a tertiary level qualification in accounting or management accounting A minimum of three years post-qualification experience in the field of finance in a large or medium size organisational environment, with exposure to various aspects of finance and management accounting Ability to interact successfully with clients at all levels regarding financial matters, and to provide related advice, coaching and training. Ability to take initiative, exercise judgement, solve problems, and work accurately and to deadline with minimal supervision. Excellent organisation skills and the ability to establish priorities. Pastel Accounting, advantageous Excel - advanced Ensure effective written and verbal communication. Ensure dependability, flexibility, and readiness to assist in other areas. DUTIESACCOUTING Accurate processing on Pastel Accounting system. Accurate and timeous reviewing of cash balance and following up on debtors and creditors. Processing monthly bank reconciliations to schedule. Controlling of Petty Cash for the various departments. Accurate, timeous, and efficient preparation of monthly accounts. Preparing the month-end reconciliation file. PLANNING, BUDGETING AND REPORTING In consultation with the Finance Manager, co-ordinate and manage all aspects of the annual planning and budgeting. Prepare required schedules and reconciliations. Perform authorised budget transfers and monitor and report on budget allocations. Monitor and report actual expenditure against plan and obtain information to prepare variance analyses and revised forecasts monthly, quarterly, and annually. MONITORING AND CONTROL Prepare and review financial reports for each Chair of the various Committees as required. Prepare and review schedules and supporting documentation for external audit. Ensure that the financial statements and audit register is maintained. Ensure funds assigned to the various Departments and Committees are reviewed on a regular basis.
