Job Title: Medical Officer: VMMC and Training Location: Houghton, Gauteng, South Africa Reference : [Chaps] Contract Type: Permanent Salary: Market Related Job Summary: The Medical Officer will be responsible to offer technical advice/support, training, and quality assurance for all CHAPS Programmes. Responsibilities: Reporting to the CEO, the MO will practice/undertake: 1.1 Technical Work Responsibilities • Clinical Management of Medical Male Circumcision Programme Clients and Patients • Apply understanding of relevant SA DOH HIV/AIDS/STI management guidelines and policies • Provision of medical/surgical care • Managing clinical services • Administration of medical interventions • Administrative duties and reporting • Human Capital Management • Ensuring maintenance of best clinical practice by Clinical Staff • Ensuring that Clinical Staff maintain adequate professional skills; through training and mentoring 1.2. QA Work Responsibilities • Management of quality assurance • Quality assurance system applications • Six sigma techniques • Application of experience in risk management, product testing, capability studies and control plans • Perform internal QA audits • Monitor and implement QA Systems/Programs • QA methodologies • General administration • Human capital management • Coaching and mentoring of Staff 1.3. Training Responsibilities • Internal and external trainings • Companywide training plan management and implementation • Support DOH with trainings • Manage and update training manuals and materials Requirements: Education: • Medical Degree (MBChB, or equivalent) • Valid registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Practitioner • Demonstrable understanding of relevant SA DOH HIV/AIDS/STI management guidelines and policies • GCP Certification • Certificate in Quality Improvement Advantageous: • Master’s in Public Health • College Diploma/Certificate in HIV Management • Certified MMC Clinical Training Competencies: • Stakeholder Orientation and Networking • Effective Communication Skills (Verbal & Written) • Strong organizational skills • Strong interpersonal skills with mentorship capability • Improvement Orientation • Business acuity • Attention to detail • Analytical Thinking • Problem Solving and innovative thinking • Results driven and ability to synthesize concepts into innovative solutions Requirements: • Proficient personal computer skills • SA Citizen or valid work permit to work in South Africa • Advanced computer skills • Drivers Licence • Own car • Minimal/Moderate/Excessive overnight travel (up to 30%) by land or air if required • Willing to work overtime Please state in the subject line of your application, the position you are applying for.
