Autism Western Cape is a nonprofit organisation, based in Cape Town, which serves to support and empower individuals, families, professionals and communities impacted by Autism throughout the Western Cape region. Our services include counselling and psycho-educational support, training, home support and distribution of resources. Job Title: Education and Outreach Manager Job Location: Cape Town Start date: January 2019 Responsibilities: Human resource management Plan and Coordinate outreach team Supervise and manage Provision of psychosocial support and counselling to individuals, families and caregivers impacted by autism Facilitate training and workshops Train and support to new and existing schools / centres Outreach to broader areas of the Western Cape (outside of Cape Town) Facilitate and support in the establishment of parent-based (or other) Autism Spectrum Disorder schools and centres Advocacy for the rights to education for autistic children Requirements: Degree in a related field Minimum of two years’ experience in the NGO sector, preferably at a senior level Computer literacy Microsoft Office (Word, Excel. Access) Professional knowledge and skills Planning and organising skills Ability to build interpersonal relationships Ability to create and maintain working relationships with internal and external clients Communication and counselling skills (verbal and written) Maintain acceptable work standards in the pursuit of work objectives Flexible and able to work as part of a team Knowledge and / or experience in the field of autism To apply, submit your CV and cover letter to adminawc.org.za Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
