Auto Electrician Position A well-established auto electrical company with 50 years’ experience in the industry requires a qualified senior auto electrician to work mainly on breakdowns. A trade qualification as well as valid driver’s licence & a minimum of 5 years auto electrical experience in the heavy commercial vehicle industry with references are required. Responsibilities: Diagnose; repair and test on light and heavy duty vehicles: Speed Control SystemsElectric WindowsElectric Mirrors & SeatsTowbarsAll vehicle lighting including custom lightingParallel switchesDistributor, coil and spark plugsElectronic ignition systemsPre-heating starting devices/globe plugsStarting, charging & battery current drawElectronic cold starting devicesElectronic fuel injection systemsTest, service, repair and adjust the following: cut outs, regulators, solenoid switches, panel instruments, circuits, switches, lamps, horns, heater fan, relays, rheostats, indicators, windshield wiper motors, electric fuel pump and transmission controls & alternators and their regulatorsUnderstanding how to measure Volts, Amps, OHMS and WattsBattery testing, charging and replacement ATTRIBUTES: Self-starting, highly motivated individual Must have a valid driver’s licence Must be willing and confident to work on breakdowns /field service MINUMUM EXPERIENCE: 5 – 10 years - Auto Electrician Only qualified with the minimum experience requirements will be acknowledged.
