MPI Holdings is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Auto Electrician to join our team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems in a variety of vehicles, including cars, trucks, buses, and heavy machinery Key Responsibilities: Diagnose electrical issues: Utilize diagnostic tools and techniques to identify electrical problems in vehicles accurately. This includes troubleshooting issues related to wiring, circuits, sensors, ignition systems, lighting, and other electrical components. Repair and replace electrical components: Perform repairs and replacements of faulty electrical components such as alternators, starter motors, batteries, wiring harnesses, fuses, relays, switches, and control modules. Install electrical accessories: Install and integrate aftermarket electrical accessories such as audio systems, alarms, GPS devices, cameras, lighting upgrades, and other custom electrical modifications as per client requirements. Conduct maintenance tasks: Perform routine maintenance tasks on electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and prevent future breakdowns. This may include inspecting, cleaning, and lubricating electrical components and connectors. Interpret technical manuals and diagrams: Interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics to understand the layout and operation of electrical systems in different vehicle models. Adhere to safety protocols: Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines while working on electrical systems to prevent accidents, injuries, and damage to vehicles or equipment. Keep accurate records: Maintain detailed records of all electrical repairs, replacements, and maintenance activities performed on vehicles. This includes documenting parts used, labor hours, and diagnostic findings. Stay updated on industry trends: Stay abreast of advancements in automotive electrical systems, diagnostic tools, and repair techniques through continuous learning and professional development activities. Proven experience as an Auto Electrician, preferably in a workshop or dealership environment. Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing electrical issues in a wide range of vehicles. Strong knowledge of automotive electrical systems, including wiring diagrams and schematics. Familiarity with diagnostic tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, scan tools, and electrical test equipment. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Technical certification or relevant qualifications in automotive electrical systems preferred
