Leading and well known earthmoving equipment company based on the East Rand requires an experienced Field Service Technician. The applicant must have experience with hydraulic, engines and basic electrics. Must be able to read schematics. Grade 12/NQF 4 Candidate must be a Trade Tested Auto Electrician or Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic with good electrical knowledge. First preference will go to Auto Electricians 4-5 years' experience post apprenticeship Reporting to the Technical Support Manager, the Field Service Technician performs tasks in the electrical and mechanical field including Maintenance, Servicing, Component change out, Repairs, Rebuilds and Troubleshooting on Earthmoving equipment. Duties:- You will facilitate efficient technical, engineering and after-sales service to customers Diagnoses, overhauls, repairs, tunes, maintains and service diesel powered Earthmoving equipment and machinery in the field as well as in the workshop. Prepare and submit detailed field reports Maintain professional customer relationships Detects electrical and mechanical faults by using specialized tooling and equipment Repairs and maintains electrical, hydraulic and mechanical components and systems of diesel-powered equipment including attachments. Follows work assignments received in the form of general oral or written work instructions Determines the extent of the needed repair and determines the nature thereof and implement Perform checks and services on a regular basis and detects possible faults and flaws on affected equipment Repairs and/or replaces and fit new sections or new parts. Improvises necessary solutions as and when needed. Travels from one site to another often in remote areas and at unusual work hours. Works with specialized equipment in order to perform daily duty requirement. Adheres to all health and safety legislation. Must have knowledge of Microsoft office products such as Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint Good written and verbal communication skills in English Candidate must have experience working with Earthmoving machines that require programming, automation, etc. EMT industry experience The applicant must have experience with hydraulic, engines and basic electrics Must be able to read schematics Industry – Mining, Construction, supply and a service management industry would be an added advantage The position is based on the East Rand Candidate will be required to travel within South Africa Must have a valid passport and a valid driver's license is essential Facilitates efficient technical, engineering and after-sales service to customers.
