Avusa South Africa Journalism Training Programme 2011 - - South Africa

This internship runs from February to December 2011. A monthly stipend of R5,000 will be paid to successful candidates. To view the journalism training program print advertisement, click here Your training will consist of formal and informal training seminars, hands-on practical sessions and coaching and internships with various news operations in the company. While the initial training will take place in Johannesburg you may be posted to other centres for your working internships. Preference will be given to suitable candidates who will add to the diversity of Avusa. If you wish to apply: 1) Download the application form(here) and complete it. 2) Write an essay of not more than 600 words on the topic: “The Media Appeals Tribunal – the arguments for and against it.” The essay must be typed using a computer and must demonstrate evidence of research. It must be factual and include quotes from people. It must be written in a clear and coherent style. It must be your own original work. If your essay gets you through to the first phase of the selection process you will be invited to an interview and will be asked to complete a written assessment. If you make it through to the next phase you will be invited back for an interview by a panel of senior journalists and other representatives of Avusa Media and BDFM.
