Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a Banqueting Coordinator to join our clients esteemed team in the beautiful city of Cape Town. In this role, you will support the food and beverage team by managing and coordinating conference, events, and private bookings, ensuring adherence to established procedures. Minimum Experience and Qualification Required: Grade 12 2 years of food and beverage experience, event coordination experience in a high-end environment Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Outlook, Opera, Micros, Word, and Excel Highly presentable Excellent command of the English language with solid verbal and written communication skills Able to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays Advantageous Experience and Qualification Desired: Hospitality Diploma Restaurant hosting or floor management experience Key Performance Objectives: Ensure harmonious relationships exist with other departments and suppliers by maintaining clear and prompt communication. Coordinate and handle private functions, events, and special occasions within food and beverage outlets and conference rooms. Assist with printing and preparing function sheets, floor plans, event stationery, and menus. Support and assist in the promotion of various Food and Beverage outlets. Track and reconcile food and beverage covers and average spends. Coordinate all food and beverage-related guest special requests. Capture all guest data relating to guest details and comments. Conduct site inspections with agents. Assist with restaurant reservations when necessary. Report on business on the books and prepare weekly revenue report for events and conferences. Ensure all menus and beverage lists sent to clients are price checked regularly. Ensure all events advertised on the website are current and correct. This specialist position offers routine and predictability with opportunities to apply technical skills on a daily basis as part of a highly effective team.
