Billing Analyst (Healthcare Services) - Durban

As a Billing Analyst, the following will be required from you:
  • Define and execute billing and coding procedures for the claims administration department.
  • Align with the overarching business strategy.
  • Ensure accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to ethical and legal standards.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in coding and billing practices.
  • Collaborate with line managers and supervisors to guide accurate coding of healthcare claims.
As an Expert Mentor, the following will be required from you:
  • Foster collaboration with line managers, supervisors, and claims administrators.
  • Champion coding and billing enhancements to maximize revenue.
  • Proactively lead continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain high standards in billing efficiency and accuracy.
  • Analyze claims for errors and optimization opportunities.
  • Interpret scheme benefit rules for billing optimization.
  • Resolve denied or rejected claims.
  • Stay updated on healthcare changes.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Research medical aid plans and eligibility.
  • Streamline billing processes and improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the Tech team.
Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years in medical administrative billing (B2B context, healthcare sector).
  • Extensive coding experience (minimum 5 years) with industry standards knowledge.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Skilled in testing and integrating software solutions.
  • In-depth understanding of medical claims industry and coding systems.
  • Expertise in ICD-10 coding, SAMA, and CMS rules.
  • Proficient in medical terminology and human anatomy.
  • Focus on accurate and efficient billing processes.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Enthusiasm for staying updated with industry trends.
