Are you ready to take on a thrilling and impactful role in the blasting industry? A leading organisation is seeking Blasters to join their dynamic team across multiple sites in South Africa. Your main mission will be to ensure all blasting operations are executed flawlessly, from preparation to post-blasting tasks, all while adhering to statutory, legal, and SHERQ standards. Key Responsibilities Preparation for Blasting: Accurately draw the necessary accessories from the magazine based on the blast design or accessory order. Complete vehicle inspections and fill out the pre-use checklist for the accessory transport vehicle. Executing the Blast: Perform all pre-blast tasks in compliance with statutory, legal, and SHERQ requirements, including priming, pumping, stemming, and timing design. Approve the blast after ensuring the area's safety and confirming all pre-blast procedures are correctly completed. Post-Blasting Duties: Conduct required inspections and declare the area safe after the blast. Complete all necessary administration and reporting tasks. Supervise Blasting Assistants and mixer-placer trucks. Team Management: Address unacceptable behavior and escalate serious offenses to the Foreman. Assign relevant housekeeping tasks to the blasting team and ensure their completion. Requirements Grade 12 with Mathematics Blasting Ticket Permit (PDP) Magazine Master Certificate 2 years of demonstrated blasting/assistance experience 3 years of demonstrated experience in the mining/explosive environment EE Disclaimer Kindly note that all positions will be filled in accordance with the company's Employment Equity plan.
