Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout, assembly, and installation of metal components
Fabricate and assemble metal structures, including boilers, pressure vessels, tanks, and piping systems, using hand tools, welding equipment, and machinery
Cut, shape, and weld metal pieces to precise measurements and specifications, ensuring structural integrity and adherence to safety standards
Install and align fabricated components according to layout plans, equipment manuals, and engineering drawings
Conduct inspections and tests of welded joints and metal structures to identify defects and ensure compliance with quality standards and codes
Repair or replace damaged or worn parts of boilers, tanks, and other equipment to maintain optimal performance and safety
Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts, to prevent equipment breakdowns and prolong service life
Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and other tradespeople to plan and execute construction and maintenance projects effectively
Adhere to safety procedures and regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and the implementation of lockout/tagout procedures
Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and equipment maintenance activities
Qualifications:
Grade 12
Qualified Boilermaker (Red Seal - Compulsory)
5 years experience as a Boilermaker on a process plant
Good communication skills (read and write)
Good understanding of Safety Standards and Procedures
