Bookkeeper - Cape Town Region
My client in the Southern Suburbs is seeking a Bookkeeper to join their successful business. Responsibilities: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records Process and reconcile accounts payable and receivable transactions Process inter-company invoices Reconcile bank statements and ensure the accuracy of financial data Reconcile inter-company loans Prepare sales invoices and quotes Send out customer statements monthly and follow up on payments where necessary Prepare payments for authorisation via online banking Prepare and submit monthly financial reports to the directors Prepare and submit VAT (VAT201) and Employees Tax (EMP201 & EMP501) returns timeously to SARS Assist in the reparation of budgets and financial forecasts Handle payroll processing and ensure timely and accurate payment to employees Timely submission of returns to the Department of Labour and or COIDA Monitor and manage petty cash transactions Work closely with other departments to gather financial information and provide support as needed Implement systems and procedur Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is a plus. Bookkeeping diploma from a recognised institution Minimum of 5 years of experience in bookkeeping or a similar role Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices Proficiency in Xero and Dext Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Strong communication and interpersonal abilities Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment Basic knowledge of South African tax laws and regulations (not essential for the role) Relevant qualification in Accounting or Finance Familiarity with signage manufacturing and marketing is a plus Please note if you have not heard from us in 2 weeks from application, please consider yourself unsuccessful - please do continue to follow us online and apply for suitable roles.
