Bright Start is a registered nonprofit organisation that was founded in 2008 to address issues of inequality by facilitating access to education for children from historically impoverished communities in Hout Bay, Cape Town. Bright Start provides a holistic mentoring methodology that includes mentoring, tutoring, school readiness, after-care, cultural enrichment and parenting support programmes. The Organisation has 37 children on the programme from the age of 5 -16 years old. Job Title: Education Support Manager Job Position: Cape Town Responsibilities: Manage relationships between the beneficiaries and our partners (Schools, Service providers and donors) Utilise the monitoring and evaluation systems Oversee the performance of children in schools, coordinating our holistic support program Liaise with donors Develop relationships with the families and coordinating workshops, and fundraising activities Requirements: Strong desire to improve educational standards Proven ability to relate to children and to inspire and motivate them A record of coaching and mentoring children of all ages Vision and commitment to uplift children of disadvantaged communities Knowledge and understanding of the South African curriculum Experience in administrative and institutional operations Record of initiating innovative and creative learning practices Self-starter with the ability to manage a number of tasks simultaneously An understanding of the skills required to mentor as well as the role and impact of mentorship is crucial To apply, submit motivational letter, CV and at least two recent work references to laurabrightstart.org.za Application Deadline: 25th July, 2018.
