Reference: PTA001083-EV-1An established distributor of specialised plastics, chemicals and polymers is seeking a Sales Executive to identify and explore market opportunities and manage the marketing activities with the aim to support business growth and achieve the business strategy in Sub Saharan Africa. Minimum requirements for the role: A tertiary education in Business, Engineering or Science will be ideal Minimum 5 years’ sales and marketing experience in the Chemicals/Plastics/Polymers industry will be required A technical aptitude and an understanding of chemicals and polymers will be a distinct advantage Must have a valid driver’s license and be flexible to travel 10-25% of the time, mostly in South Africa, but also Sub-Saharan Africa Excellent verbal and written skills, specifically in English, with the ability to interface with internal and external stakeholders of all levels, will be required The successful candidate will be responsible for: Identifying and capturing new business opportunities in the Oil and Gas, Home and Personal Care, Pharmaceutical, Coatings, Refractories, Agricultural and Polymers industries. Ensuring and understanding of products, applications, markets and trends to turn opportunities into sales. Networking with stakeholders internally and externally to promote the brands and products. Developing new business and managing key accounts according to set targets. Negotiating sales contracts working directly with distributors and/or customers. Developing a good understanding of the competition in terms of products, pricing structure, activity, and market trends in the key applications. Providing meticulous analysis and record keeping to provide market intelligence.
