General Reinsurance, Cape Town Branch (a subsidary of General Reinsurance AG) is offering an opportunity for Business Intelligence Analyst in our Life Australia, UK, SA, Canada division. Key Responsibilities The Role The main purpose of the job will be to assist the members of the Life/Health Finance Team in all aspects of data handling and analysis work with the key focus on enabling day-to-day premiums and claims administration. Develop and manage Business Intelligence (BI) Solutions Executing BI queries and generating reports Playing a key role in the development and testing of new premiums and claims administration system Using SQL server skills for data analysis and integration Firm understanding of databases. Identify opportunities to improve processes with technology solutions, with a focus on automation. Support applications, reports and processes with ability to read code Support individual and group, premium and claims administration Support preparation and loading of premium and claims into internally developed SQL-based system Performing account reconciliations Attend to client queries Assist claims and other internal departments Ad hoc tasks and reporting as required from time to time Qualifications & Experience Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or similar Good Excel skills SQL Server skills Power BI skills Excellent analytical and problem solving skills Excellent organizational skills combined with a high level of attention to detail Basic financial understanding Willingness to learn internally developed systems Ability to work in a methodical and systematic way Strong written and oral communication skills Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively as part of a team, deal with people at all levels and in all areas of the business and engage with clients Ability to work with minimum supervision Ability to prioritize, while remaining flexible to deal with changing work demands Comfortable working in a high-performance environment Contact Human Resources Our Address General Reinsurance Africa Ltd.
