Join our NGO team as a compassionate caseworker, providing dedicated support and upliftment to our community. Conduct home assessments and utilize relevant tools to evaluate clients' home situations. Assess the mental health of all clients on the caseload using mental health screening tools and determine the severity of their conditions. Manage caseloads according to IMS criteria, ensuring proper consultation with clients based on established criteria. Deliver individual and family counseling services, incorporating evidence-based practices and theories as needed, and provide advocacy where necessary. Develop, organize, and facilitate structured group work sessions. Evaluate program effectiveness and compile impact reports. Participate in Ubuntu Case conferences and attend supervision meetings as required. Screen and refer walk-in clients to appropriate services. Collaborate with other professionals to address clients' needs comprehensively. Fulfill additional duties as assigned to meet departmental objectives and targets. Plan and communicate leave schedules, identify training needs, and adhere to HR policies. Maintain updated client files, submit required registers, and ensure confidentiality of data. Prepare comprehensive and high-quality reports. Uphold professionalism in interactions with clients and the community, adhering to dress code and conduct standards. Demonstrate flexibility and effective anxiety management. Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate reliability in all tasks. Foster teamwork and collaboration within the department to achieve common goals NQF Level 5 / BA in Social Work or equivalent qualification. Previous knowledge or experience of working with individuals, families, and groups. Proficiency in HIV Management care. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Proven ability to be activity and goal-driven, with a focus on achieving positive outcomes for clients. Knowledge of the Family Act and its implications for social work practice. Familiarity with adherence counselling principles and techniques. Understanding of mental health-related issues and interventions. Knowledge of Youth-friendly Services and their importance in supporting young people's well-being. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds. Sound judgment and decision-making abilities. Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team. Proficiency in computer applications for data management and reporting. Commitment to ongoing professional development and self-care practices. This position may require occasional evening or weekend hours to accommodate client needs or attend meetings. Work is primarily conducted in office settings, but may also involve field visits and community outreach activities. The role may entail exposure to emotionally challenging situations and clients with complex needs. Starting – 1 st May 2024 Salary – R21,007.73 basic plus Benefits Apply Now
