Job Title: Cashbook ClerkLocation: Cape TownReporting to: Finance ManagerPosition Type: Full-time, Job Description:We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and organized Cashbook Clerk to join our finance team. The Cashbook Clerk will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of financial transactions, including compiling and processing receipts, invoices, and payments. The ideal candidate will have excellent numerical skills, attention to detail, and strong communication abilities. Key Responsibilities:- Record daily financial transactions in the cashbook- Reconcile bank statements and accounts- Process receipts and payments- Prepare and maintain financial reports- Assist with budgeting and forecasting- Liaise with vendors and suppliers regarding payments- Assist with month-end and year-end financial closing processes- Assist with other finance-related tasks as neededQualifications:- Proven experience as a Cashbook Clerk or similar role- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel- Knowledge of accounting software- Excellent numerical skills- Attention to detail and accuracy- Strong communication and organizational skills- Ability to work independently and as part of a team- Prior experience in finance or accounting is preferredEducation:- High school diploma or equivalent required- Degree or certification in finance, accounting, or related field preferredThis job description is intended to convey information essential to understanding the scope of the job and the general nature and level of work performed by job holders within this job.
