Our client is looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Casing Grader to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting, grading, and sorting natural or synthetic casings used in the food production industry. This role is crucial in ensuring the quality and safety of products that reach consumers. Responsibilities: Inspecting Casings: Carefully examine natural or synthetic casings to identify defects, variations in color, size, and texture. Ensure that all casings meet the established standards of quality and safety. Grading and Sorting: Accurately grade casings according to their quality, size, and suitability for various types of products. Sort casings into designated categories based on the grading criteria. Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of inspected casings, including the grade assigned, quantities inspected, and any defects identified. Ensure that all documentation is accurate and up-to-date. Quality Control: Continuously monitor the quality of casings and report any issues or deviations from the quality standards to the supervisor or quality control department. Cleaning and Maintenance: Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of grading equipment and work area to ensure a clean and safe working environment. Compliance: Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations, as well as company policies and procedures related to food safety and quality. Key Skills: Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to notice minor defects and variations in products. Decision-Making Skills: Strong decision-making skills to accurately grade and sort casings based on established criteria. Record-Keeping Abilities: Proficiency in maintaining accurate and detailed records of inspections and gradings. Physical Stamina: Capability to stand for extended periods and handle casings of various sizes and weights. Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team, contributing to a collaborative and supportive work environment. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for reporting and documenting inspection results. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; further education or certification in a related field is a plus. Previous experience in a grading, quality control, or inspection role within the food production industry is highly desirable. Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations is advantageous. Training in the use of grading equipment and tools may be provided, but prior experience is beneficial.
