Civil Engineer: Assistant Project Manager - North Johannesburg

This is an extraordinary opportunity to make an impact in infrastructure development within a multi-disciplinary project Crafting comprehensive project plans encompassing schedules, budgets, and resource allocation Collaborating closely with diverse teams, including architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors, to ensure timely delivery of project milestones within budgetary constraints and in alignment with quality standards Proficiently analysing and addressing project risks and issues, devising effective contingency plans to mitigate potential setbacks Upholding strict adherence to building codes, specifications, regulations, and industry standards Preparation and meticulous review of project proposals, contracts, and related documentation Conducting regular site visits and inspections to monitor construction progress and adherence to project specifications Maintenance of thorough project documentation, including progress reports, budget analyses, and change requests Proactively identifying opportunities for process enhancements and cost optimization, presenting recommendations to senior management Facilitating regular project team meetings, providing guidance and support to team members Ensuring transparent communication with all project stakeholders regarding progress updates and any modifications to the project plan Skills & Experience: Preferred qualifications for candidates include holding a pertinent degree or certification in disciplines such as construction, engineering, quantity surveying, and project management A minimum of five (5) years of experience is required, specifically within the realm of Project Management, encompassing the full life cycle of extensive, multi-disciplinary projects Key requirements include proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office, along with the capability to work autonomously. The successful candidate will also demonstrate proficiency in guiding and supervising supporting staff to ensure project success Responsibilities will include preparing comprehensive project reports, as well as analyzing and adjudicating variation orders and payment certificates, contributing significantly to project efficiency and success Qualification: BSc/BEng Degree or BTech (Civil). Must provide Certificate with transcript Registered with ECSA/SACPQSP as a Professional. Must provide Certificate with registration number Registered with SACPCMP (PrCPM essential) Registered with PMI (PMP advantageous) Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.
