Namlog seeks experienced supervisor to manage the Clearing Imports and Exports Entry Clerks. Responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following: Comprehensive knowledge on SARS submission processes and regulations Understand and interpret the Clearing Operational Processes Supervise the processes in place in conjunction with staff responsibilities Drafting daily reports and stats Audit daily customs paperwork prior to submissions to customs Quality assurance on all shifts Tariff classification in line with all revenue authorities / guideline Interpretation of customs policies, implementation and training of subordinates Evaluate / measure daily results and set Performance standards Communication with both local and cross border Customs departments Ensure overall accuracy of all customs entries. Determine Intervention plans and provide feedback on high level Obtain commitment and Initiate corrective action Communicate intervention plan and measure results Provide daily / weekly and monthly feedback on performance Identify need to change Supervise and manage responses to change effectively and determine need. Good understanding on VAT calculation as per destination / Country laws and regulations Contribute to the successful operation of the Clearing and Forwarding Dept, in terms of quality of work and productivity. Comprehensive knowledge of the clearing and forwarding industry-all service offerings Exceptional knowledge of Customs Act, rules and regulations Exceptional knowledge of Customs tariff classification At least 3 years' experience in a similar position Ability to work alone or as part of a team Knowledge of MS Word/Excel and Easy Clear Accuracy in completing applications for refunds Grade 12 certificate or equivalent. Strong inter-personal skills Ability to build good working relationships. Possess well-developed communication skills. Be methodical and well organized with an analytical and enquiring mind. Own transport would be essential as the business runs 24-hour operation 7 days a week.
