ALMA-Clinics” (Alma), is a Primary healthcare (PHC) Nurse-Led Medical Technology Clinic network that leverages technology to make comprehensive Primary care accessible, affordable and offer effective treatment in order to reduce consequential complications related to non-communicable diseases in low-income market segment. Alma offers PHC services through a Digital PHC platform that seeks to create empowerment of patient and nurses, shifting healthcare from curative to preventative , and validating a primary healthcare system that empowers all stakeholders with the “patient” at the centre and more a transparent system. It offers a solution that will respond to current healthcare challenges and create opportunities for the South African market, enabling millions of people to have access to quality affordable care. The solution leverages innovative portable diagnostics and an AI-driven digital platform technology to enhance services at primary healthcare through early diagnosis and treatment of diseases to reduce burden at tertiary care and prevent early mortality and disabilities associated with NCDs. Consequently, it will empower nurses to cater to more patients in an efficient manner and increase health literacy through the mobile app where patients will take ownership of their health. Facilities: Alma clinics create greater accessibility through its strategic retail locations, the facilities range between 130m2- 170m2 reducing traditional large infrastructure capital investment to reduce operational costs for the greater benefit of patient and payers in the healthcare industry. Alma's growth strategy is focused on establishing 45 Nurse-run outlets with remote support by Physicians in the next five (5) years across South Africa. Duties & Responsibilities The main tasks: •Patient-centred consultations across all ages in the clinic •Appropriately complete patient referral letters and act as a point of contact with Doctors allocated to the Clinic •Identify patient's needs and problems with effective listening. •Perform an accurate and relevant physical examination. •Utilise diagnostic tools effectively. •Ensure continuity of care by deciding on follow-up and review plan. •Explain the role and function of a clinical associate to the patient. •Apply basic ethical principles. •Comply with statutory and professional obligations. •Demonstrate appropriate and sensitive attitudes to patient, family, communities, and colleagues. •Demonstrate reliability in work situations. •Reflect all relevant information in patient records and medico-legal forms accurately and legibly. •Accurately complete patient statistics. •Provide emergency medical care. •Prescribe appropriate medication within scope of practice. •Facilitate communication and provide basic counselling •Integrate understanding of family, community and health system into the clinic operations. •Provide guidance and support to the clinical staff at the clinic, ensuring compliance with clinical protocols and guidelines Three (3) year Bachelor of Clinical Medical Practice (BCMP) University Degree Current Registration with the Medical Board of the Health Professions Council of South Africa as a Clinical Associate. Ability to speak Local Languages Key Competencies Sound and in-depth knowledge of the Health Act and the regulations pertaining to the Act. Knowledge of provision of health care as delegated by other relevant legal frameworks such as Occupational Health and Safety Act, Patient Rights Charter, Public Service Regulations, Labour Relations Act, Disciplinary Code and Procedure, Grievance Procedure, etc. Knowledge and understanding of Code of Ethics and Professional Practice of the HPCSA. Knowledge, skill and understanding of the Scope of Practice for the Clinical Associate. Broad knowledge and understanding of the Department's programmes and priorities Sound and in-depth knowledge of relevant prescripts, application of human resources as well as understanding of the legislative framework governing the Public Service. Knowledge of all Social Services related Acts and Regulations Management of Trauma and Emergencies Knowledge to treat chronic illnesses such as Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension and COAD Market Related Apply Now
