Coffee Shop Operations Manager - Midrand

Previous experience as a Coffee Shop Manager or Similar Establishments:

Grade 12 with a Barista Training and Certification: Certification from recognized barista training programs or organizations can be a valuable qualification

8 years+ relevant experience in coffee service industry, with a minimum of 6 years’ experience working for a Leading, Proudly South African Franchise Brand.

Coffee and Barista Skills Required:
Coffee Knowledge: A deep understanding of coffee beans, including origins, roasting profiles, and flavour profiles. Knowledge of different brewing methods (e.g., Espresso, Pour-Over, French Press) and the ability to recommend suitable methods for various coffee beans.
Espresso Skills: Proficiency in operating espresso machines, including adjusting grind settings, dose, and extraction time. The ability to consistently produce high-quality espresso shots with a rich crema.
Latte Art: Skill in creating aesthetically pleasing latte art designs, which enhance the visual appeal of coffee drinks.
Beverage Preparation: Knowledge of coffee and tea blending, preparation of specialty coffee beverages, and the ability to follow standard recipes. The skill to create various coffee-based beverages, including cappuccinos, lattes, mochas, and cold brew. To Go Offerings
Proper storage: Handling of coffee beans to maintain freshness and quality.
Inventory management and procurement of quality coffee beans.
Equipment Maintenance: Proficiency in maintaining and cleaning coffee equipment (espresso machines, grinders, milk frothers) to ensure their longevity and functionality.
