Collaborate with HR and leadership to conduct regular employee surveys and feedback sessions to assess employee satisfaction and engagement levels. Analyse results from employee survey and feedback sessions and recommend action plans to address areas of improvement. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement programs promoting a positive work culture and to celebrate employee accomplishments and contributions. Internal Communication Develop and execute a comprehensive communication plan, aligned to company values and goals, to ensure consistent and transparent flow of information throughout the organisation, ensuring that employees are informed and engaged. Create and distribute regular newsletters, announcements, and updates to share company news, milestones, and important information. Facilitate regular town hall meetings, focus groups, and other forums to encourage two-way communication and address employee concerns. Develop and implement effective communication channels for all employees, ensuring timely and accurate dissemination of information. Craft engaging and creative communication initiatives to foster employee involvement and create a sense of belonging. Utilize various communication channels, including the intranet and email, to facilitate effective two-way communication. External Communication Craft and execute external communication plans to build and maintain the company’s brand image and reputation. Develop press releases, media kits, and other materials for media outreach and public relations efforts. Liaise with media representatives and act as a spokesperson for the company when necessary. Monitor media coverage and respond to inquiries or issues proactively. Content Creation Create compelling and engaging content for various channels, including website articles, blogs, and social media posts. Collaborate with subject matter experts and teams to develop industry-related content that showcases our expertise and thought leadership. Ensure all content aligns with the company’s brand voice, values, and communication objectives. Intranet and Internet Management Oversee the intranet platform, ensuring it remains an effective tool for internal communication, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing. Manage the company’s internet page, ensuring it is up-to-date, user-friendly, and showcases our services and achievements. Implement Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) strategies to optimize web presence and increase online visibility. Social Media Management Develop and execute social media strategies to increase the company’s online presence and engagement with both employees and external stakeholders. Monitor social media channels and respond to comments, messages, and mentions promptly. Track and analyses social media performance metrics, making data-driven decisions to improve reach and impact. Crisis Communication Develop crisis communication plans to handle potential issues and manage the company’s reputation during challenging times. Work closely with senior leadership and relevant departments to ensure a unified and timely response to crises. Change Management Analyze data to drive informed decision-making and process improvement. Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and documentation for project updates and financial results. Maintain comprehensive project records and documentation in compliance with company standards. Strategic Project Management Lead and oversee financial special projects from initiation to completion, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives. Develop project plans, budgets, and timelines, and monitor project progress. Identify key project stakeholders and ensure effective communication and collaboration. Financial Analysis and Modelling Conduct comprehensive financial analyses, including budgeting, forecasting, and risk assessment. Develop complex financial models to assess project feasibility, ROI, and impact on the company’s financial position. Provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis. Change Management Partner with management to effectively communicate organisational changes, ensuring employees understand the reasons and impact of these changes. Support change initiatives by providing communication plans, tools, resources, and support to help employees adapt to new processes or systems during transitions. Act as a change advocate, promoting understanding, acceptance, and engagement during organisational changes. Team Management Collaborate with the Learning and Development team to deliver training programs that promote employee growth and skill enhancement to team members. Support the implementation of career development plans for team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning. Education and Qualification (What is the minimum qualification or education that would be required for this role) Bachelor’s degree in media and communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Human Resources, or a related field. Knowledge and Skill (what kind of knowledge and skill is required in this role – basic skills, technical skills, specialized, analytical) Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organisation. Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing successful employee engagement strategies. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to create engaging content for different audiences and channels. Experience and Training (What kind and how many years of experience must the incumbent have had in order to be proficient in the role) At least 3-5 years’ experience in employee engagement and communication, preferably in the supply chain and logistics industry. Experience in managing intranet platforms, websites, and social media channels. Familiarity with SEO best practices and digital marketing strategies. Crisis communication experience and ability to handle sensitive issues with tact and diplomacy. Knowledge of South African labour laws and regulations is advantageous.
