The successful candidate will be highly organized, detail oriented, self-motivated, as well as demonstrate ability to respond effectively to changing workloads and priorities. The candidate should be used to work independently. Must have the ability to communicate well and to manage multiple assignments and people simultaneously. The ideal candidate will have the demonstrated ability to respond effectively and efficiently while maintaining flexibility. This position requires high levels of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information, and professionalism in dealing with senior professionals inside and outside the company. In addition, exceptional written and oral communication skills, high attention to detail, bias for action, detailed planning and organizational skills are required. Key responsibilities include: - Maintenance and improvement of processes related to vendors setup, purchase requisitions, invoice processing and payments tracking for the site. - Manage device tracking and improve asset control specifically for the CPT and VCS operation, working closely with Global IT. - Manage the CS Purchasing and Accounts Payable functions and processes, including AWS and other BUs when required. - Supervise GREF functions and processes for the CS operation, including spending tracking and month end information required by Finance. - Maintain monthly staff transportation and telco reconciliations and support related month end activities. - Monitor compliance reporting for entities within CS, to regulatory bodies or SETAs (like Work Place Skills Training annual reports etc) - Supporting the corporate card team with any related administrative functions. - Support payments team with bank statement queries and foreign payment documentation. - Represent CS and partner effectively with external and internal stakeholders including third party vendors. - Partner with CS Finance on compliance policy maintenance and continuous process improvement initiatives. - Social ethics committee involvement - Amazon Development Centre leadership team Fiduciary responsibilities - Budget approvals - Skills Development / Grant submissions We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations: Cape Town, ZAF Basic Qualifications 5 years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience - 5 years of Accounts Receivable or Account Payable experience - 4 years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience - 3 years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience - 4 years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience - Bachelor's degree in accounting, information systems, finance, or equivalent Preferred Qualifications 4 years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience - MBA, or CPA - Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards) Amazon is an equal opportunities employer, and we value your passion to discover, invent, simplify and build.
