Contract Manager - Stellenbosch

Our client a large contractor require a Contract manager to join their team on building projects mostly in Boland area.

Position Authority:

  • Reports to the Construction Director/Managing Director regarding construction activities and operational functions.
  • Reports to the Financial Director regarding financial-related activities.

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum educational level: Construction related Diploma or degree from a University/Technicon.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years as a Site Agent.
  • Computer Literacy: Proficiency in MS Office Word/Excel and programming software CCS
  • Some AutoCad experience would be an advantage
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Organisational Abilities: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Problem-Solving: Proven ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Diligent and Accountable: Detail-oriented and responsible for ensuring contractual obligations are met.
  • Self-Assertive: Confident and assertive in decision-making and negotiations.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to all contractual obligations and ensure contracts perform favorably.
  • Program, quality, budget, and maintain good relationships with clients and professionals involved in the projects.
  • Take a holistic approach, considering the bigger picture and seeking new, innovative ideas where the company can excel in the construction industry.

Additional Responsibilities May Include:

  • Overseeing procurement processes and negotiating contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Managing project risks and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Monitoring project progress and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to optimize project delivery and resource allocation.
  • Providing regular reports to senior management on project performance, financials, and potential risks or opportunities.
  • Conducting regular site visits to assess progress, address issues, and ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
