PIES & PASTRIES GAUTENG HAS THE FOLLOWING POSITION VACANT JOB TITLE - COST ACCOUNTANT The successful candidate will report to the Management Accountant and the responsibilities will include the following: Job Duties & Responsibilities: Maintain and analyze the data used for costing determinations and financial reports. Prepares cost sheets showing total cost, selling prices, or rates profits. Assisting NPD with costings on the development of new products and redevelopment of existing ranges for the Pie & Pastries Gauteng factory. Conducting continuous product evaluations in manufacturing plant compared to standard. Planning, studying, and collecting data to determine cost of business activity such as raw material purchases, labor, direct other cost, distribution and services. Analyzing changes in product design, raw material, manufacturing methods or service provided, to determine effects on cost. Analyzing actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs. Analyzing estimates of cost in cost reviews and preparing reports. Providing management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services. Maintaining Cost Accounting System. Recording cost information for use in controlling expenditures. Ensuring correct policies and procedures are followed ie stock takes, data processing. Conducts physical inventories and monitors cycle count program. Analyzing data collected and recording results on weekly financial reports. Assisting in Month end for the successful closure of the General Ledger. Expense issues and control/follow up on interbranch transactions. Full functionality of Chep portal and functionality's. Ability to collect/analyze sales data and to present it in proper report. Ability to understand and load/maintain of list prices. Ability to understand the invoicing system. Ability to understand accounts payable function (PO/GRN/Creditor accrual account). Liaising with Management Accountant. A preparedness to work extended hours when necessary will be essential Our ideal candidate must have: Matric (with Mathematics and Accounting), Minimum of 2 solid years of Cost Accountant in a Manufacturing Environment. Certificate / Diploma in Cost and Management Accounting, Bachelor Degree in Cost and Management Accounting would be advantageous. Experience in product development of perishable foods or equivalent will be very beneficial, Computer literate - strong Excel skills and the ability to use outlook and word, Experience with SYSPRO System Experience working with Manufacturing personnel on development and analysis of cost standard. Excellent people management and communication skills, A broad knowledge of competitive marketplace information and trends in the food industry, Willing to work overtime as required. Other attributes would include: Ability to accurately prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports (Financial & Sales) A good track record in the industry, An assertive, team spirited, proactive and hands-on approach, Ability to plan and co-ordinate all Processes Trustworthy and able to work with minimum supervision Professional, enthusiastic, hardworking, well-organized and able to prioritize Able to work with others and willing to contribute to team Problem Solving and leadership skills Work at very fast pace Strong personality with a high sense of discipline and organizational skills Good understanding of products produced by RFG - Fresh Food Gauteng Desired Skills: Costing Stock Management BOM Desired Qualification Level: Diploma About The Employer: The Fresh Foods division produces fresh and frozen ready meals, pies and pastries, and dairy products packed for private label brands and RFG Foods's own brands.
