A leading FMCG company in the Eastern Cape has an excellent opportunity for a Cost Controller. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for maximising business profitability through comprehensive financial analysis and effective cost-control measures. Facilitate daily reporting of production efficiencies, analyse sales profitability and implement strategies to optimize overall business costs.
Key Performance Areas
Reporting
- Review expense reports to ensure that expenses are reasonable and appropriate.
- Prepare reports for management regarding costs and expenses.
- Conduct financial analysis and report on production.
- Conduct product profit margin analysis (sales revenue vs. cost of sales, variable costs, and fixed costs).
- Prepare daily reports for internal stakeholders.
Cost management
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure that all costs are accurately tracked.
- Conduct cost analysis to identify areas where costs can be reduced or eliminated
- Collect cost data from suppliers to track material costs.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and maintain the cost forecast.
- Analyse and attribute variable and fixed costs to the respective cost accounts.
- Ensure the accuracy of plant product cost criteria (i.e., material, labour, factory overhead, etc.).
Stock admin, inventory and account reconciliation
- Capture production transactions daily.
- Participate in the annual physical inventory reconciliation and provide analysis and explanation for fluctuations in inventory balances.
- Perform inventory and/or cost of sales account reconciliation.
Qualifications and Experience
- B Com Accounting plus Articles
- 2 - 3 Years of relevant working experience
- 2 – 3 years experience in finance/administrative and/or similar ERP systems
- Computer literate (MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
