Description The Cost Management Accountant position is accountable for the ongoing analysis of process constraints, target costing projects, margin analysis, and tracing costs back to underlying activities. The Cost Management Accountant must also construct and monitor those cost-effective data accumulation systems needed. Task and Responsibilities: Expected to be highly familiar with all production operations, and to interact daily with the operations team. Construct, maintain and monitor cost data systems to provide an appropriate level of cost information to management. Ongoing analysis of cost, tracking it back to the underlying activities. Investigating and reporting on variances. Facilitate the compilation of annual budgets and monthly reports, specifically providing cost data, cost drivers and efficiencies for the shaft and plant operations. Provide a review and analysis of monthly cost information against budget to operations team for discussion and finalization. Oversee the inventory management function for the plant warehouse. Attend production meetings for inputs with regards to finance related matters. Maintain the Fixed Asset Register for the plant and other allocated areas. The position will be reporting to the Finance Manager. Ensure that cost classification is correct. Monthly stock recons. Responsible for monthly inventory adjustments on consumable stock. Minimum Requirements Grade 12 or equivalent qualification. CIMA qualification is a requirement. 3 - 5 years Operational Cost Accounting experience in mining environment. Sound knowledge of accounting practices financial and accounting software applications. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Other Requirements: High personal integrity and professionalism. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Self-motivation and the ability to work independently as well in a team. Strong and dynamic personality. Competencies: Good understanding of the organization's goals and objectives. Excellent organization skills, written communication skills.
