RPO Recruitment's client in the manufacturing industry is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join their team of professionals in Bellvillle, Cape Town. As a Credit Controller, you will be responsible for managing the credit control process from start to finish, ensuring timely payments are made by clients. You will also be tasked with carrying out credit checks on new clients, monitoring existing clients, handling customer queries and disputes, reconciling accounts, and proactively identifying areas for improvement within the credit control process. Responsibilities: Communicate with customers and representatives regarding outstanding payments and arrange collections as necessary. Regularly review aged accounts receivable (AA) and ensure maximum collections. Reconcile customer receipts daily and ensure accuracy of discount and rebate calculations. Follow approved procedures for debt collections and account handover. Reconcile independent and chain store accounts and follow up on outstanding matters. Resolve customer-related queries promptly by liaising with customers and other departments. Follow up with stock/overcharge credit clerks to ensure timely handling of claims and processing of credits. Assist in finalizing claims when necessary. Coordinate with the Financial Manager regarding any disputable amounts. Release orders on hold by either checking order numbers or verifying that the amount and aging of outstanding debit are within required limits. Communicate with the credit manager regarding any amounts outside these limits. Monitor credit limits, place order holds on accounts where necessary, and gather required information for credit manager review. Ensure that information on aged accounts receivable (AA) includes all relevant customer data and visible comments regarding outstanding debt. Provide the Financial Manager with a monthly forecast of collections. Forward copy documents to customers as needed. Balance month-end statements to aged accounts receivable (AA) and post/fax to customers as necessary. Requirements: 3 - 5 years experience in same or similar position preferable working within an FMCG environment Sound Level of understanding of the major FMCG groups Matric certificate (essential) Credit Management diploma preferably Computer literate in Microsoft office with special reference to Excel and ability to develop spread sheets. Ability to work under pressure High level of financial literacy Be very organized and meticulous with detail Communicate effectively and systematically to resolve problems with customers and other depts.
